If i have given two queries with same purpose,How can i find out which is more efficient?

Databases include query analysis tools for this purpose. Which database are you using?

Oracle 10g
quick googling result in Oracle Query Analyser 2.0.3. I hope you are talking about it.

Nope. Oracle has its own tools to do this. Have a read through your Oracle documentation for "explain plans".
