Hello to all,

My requirement is that i want to play a .mov file on the click of a JLabel. I have done that part but the question is first i need to check whether QuickTime player is installed on the clients machine or not. Does anyone has any ideo on how to accomplish this.In case the player is not installed that the user needs to be prompted for first installing quicktime player.

Thanks and Regards,

There maybe something in the QT API for this.

However, I simple way would be to have a path to the default install location of QT and then prompt the user if it is not in that location to either install it or provide the installed file/dir path.

You *could* look in the Registry (if Windows) but honestly, I wouldn't want to bother with that and would make it platform dependent.
