Hi All,

Does printing too many print statement on java console leads to out of memory exception? I have an applet running on IE 6.0. I am priniting something like 1 print statement per second on to the java console. After running the applet like 24 hours, my applet is freezed.

Please, give me your inputs if you have any idea about this. Any good links?

Thanks,

"I am no one I am me", you have previously been warned on one or more occasions regarding adjusting your display name to meet JavaRanch standards. This is not optional. Please take a look at the JavaRanch Naming Policy and adjust your display name to match it prior to your next post.

Your display name must be a first and a last name separated by a space character, and must not be obviously fictitious.

Be aware that accounts with invalid display names are disabled.

It probably has nothing to do with what the applet is doing. It seems that running applets in general leads to continuous memory leaks in the browser; I've seen it happen both in IE and Firefox.

If this is a long-running process that apparently needs no user interaction, why is it an applet to begin with? Could it be a desktop application instead, thus avoiding browsers altogether?
