I am trying to send a mail, the program compiles fine, but any time i attempt to run the file i always get this exception

Even though the file is contained in the mail.jar file, any suggestion would be appreciated

You need to set the 'mail.jar' file path (e.g. c:\mydir\mail.jar) in your classpath. Still if this doesn't work, download mail.jar from sun site and replace the one on your machine..

unzip mail.jar file and make sure that it has LineInputStream.class file in it.

unzip mail.jar

No need to unzip - "jar tf mail.jar" will list its contents.
