Give me ratings in the scale of 1 to 10. Give your personal numbers, rather than based on some odd reviews.

I am planning on watching it in only DLP screening theater in Dallas. Looking forward to it.

Are we talking about "Revenge of the Sith"? I've seen this "Syth" spelling multiple times; I have no idea where it came from. Let's not promulgate it any further, please.

I can't really rate ROTS. However, I can say with certainty that it is better than the first two prequels. For lack of a better term, ROTS quenched my thirst. It is action packed and should appeal to die hard fans. Nevertheless, I know many semi die hard fans that hated ROTS.

Much better than the first two. I really liked the way the story bridges between 2nd and 4th. The scene where Darth Vader and Darth Sidious look over the skeleton of Death Star being built was incredible. It was also interesting to see Chubaka get a "Master Yoda Caretaker" role in the climax. Usually he is just a sidekick who has an annoying voice :-)

Natalie Portman was not @ all hot in this one. She did much better in the first and second episodes. The light saber fights were below average. The fight with Darth Maul in the first episode was amazing. I also hated the part where master yoda has his butt kicked.

ROTS: Loved it, WILL watch again

A scale of 1-10 is still very arbitrary, depending on how you scale it. I'm not interested in comparing Star Wars to Citizen Kane or Casablanca - they're just too different. But if we're talking Star Wars films in comparison to other Star Wars films, I would set the max 10 to my favorite of the series, and set the zero point to "I wish I hadn't taken the time to watch this". On that scale I think the series rates as follows:

Star Wars: A New Hope - 9
The Empire Strikes Back - 10
The Return of the Jedi - 6

The Phantom Menace - 3
Attack of the Clones - 6
Revenge of the Sith - 8

Jar Jar had no lines, extra point. Jar Jar did not die, deduct point.

Solidly my second favorite after IV.

IV-V-VI have a totally different meaning to people who saw them starting in 1977. Kids today with their baggy pants and disco music, what do they know. Sure they saw them on TV but IV rocked the world when it was NEW.

I didn't see Clones or Sith, but otherwise I agree pretty much with Jim's rating except I might go a little lower on "return" because I have a very low tolerance for Ewoks and having a mass murder (Vader) become everyone's buddy at the end of the film.

Just saw it last night. I liked it a lot. I think I need to take some time and a few more viewings to get a real good feel as to where it fits in with the others, but here are my preliminary ratings for the series.

Star Wars: A New Hope - 10
The Empire Strikes Back - 9.5
The Return of the Jedi - 7

The Phantom Menace - 5
Attack of the Clones - 6
Revenge of the Sith - 8

I had to rate PM a bit higher than Jim. IN the context of Star Wars, I thought this was by far the weakest of them. In the grand scheme of movies though, I've seen a lot worse, and just the special effects earn it a few points.

I give a 7.5 out of 10.

Good for the technical wizardy and story being well connected towards the 'New Hope'.

Negatives are bad acting from 70% of actors.

I would say that the acting on ROTS would probably be the worst of all of the movies, albeit the story was the best. All in all, here are my ratings:

Phantom Menace: 6
Attack of the Clones:6 (Better story but too much love stuff, for the first time I was semi-bored during Star Wars.)
Return of the Sith:8.5 (Glad they didn't retain all that mushy love stuff, it was the antithesis of Star Wars. Fight scenes were good, and as mentioned before, the story was good, but the acting was below what I would expect from Star Wars (which is still better than pretty much everything)

A New Hope: 7
Empire Strikes Back:8.5
Return of the Jedi: 8.5

I don't see why everybody doesn't like Episode I. Due to it's nature and storyline, it couldn't be like the action packed original trilogy; it had to provide perhaps even more background than 4 did, and it dealt with a younger, less actionable Anakin. I also don't see why people hate JarJar. Is it like why people in my school don't like Bush in my school (because it's politically "fashionable", i.e. everybody else doesn't). Personally, I get more annoyed with Chewy's voice, and JarJar's comic relief is more refreshing (where else do you get laughs in the first three).

Finally, being a solid Star Wars fan, I had read much earlier about some cool scenes-to-be, only to find out they were deleted. The liquid gas (oxymoron?) scene looked to be cool, and I was looking forward to seeing the scene when Anakin dies while being repaired, and Palpatine uses the force to bring him back to life, disfiguring himself more. I was also expecting more from Anakin's no.

You're not the only one.

Damn, I never even heard of these films:

The Phantom Menace - 3
Attack of the Clones - 6

I don't know whether to feel pity or shame...

You are joking, right? The acting in the entire series has been fairly awful even at the best of times. But considering the inane dialog that has been written for them to say, one can hardly blame the actors. But you don't watch these movies for the acting. You watch it for the story and for the action and for the special effects.

I don't see why everybody doesn't like Episode I. Due to it's nature and storyline, it couldn't be like the action packed original trilogy

The problem is that the story just drags and there is never any suspense. For example, the pod race is a complete waste of energy. We know that Anakin will survive and that he will win. He has to for the story to move along (at the snail's pace that it does). A story like this needs to create suspense by (1) introducing a new character, (2) making us like that character, (3) putting that character in danger with Anakin. But we know that Anakin can't die and we know Obi-Wan can't die. That makes it much more challenging to create suspense; a challenge that Lucas fails to meet.

As I mentioned in another thread... the Weird Al song about the movie sums up the entire plot in 3 minutes and is more entertaining.

And knowing that Anakin will become Darth Vader, the kid is way too nice and goodie-goodie to make it believable. I wish they started with him a bit older, and the thing with his mother, although thought needed for when she...... I think is also a waste. they could have just had Sith and I would be happy with that, maybe have SITH be episode I, and show what happens after that leading up to episode 4.
