Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge has completed 500 weeks. Any inputs on that?
DDLJ is my all time favorite with my fav stars Kajol and SRK sizzling on screen. Great music, locales and performance jus created magic.

It just broke record of Sholay.

And I still think that Sholay is best movie in colour. Else my vote goes to Mughal-E-Azam as ever green movie of Indian silver screen.
I can watch Mughal-E-Azam and Sholay another n no of times. Both have great actors as great characters and in both movie each and every character in movie has something meaningful. Let it be Asrani's 10 min role in Sholay or mother of Anarkali in Mughal-E-Azam.

Another movie which I think I can watch umpteen times is "Mahal". I think its the best horror/suspense/thriller/serious(dont know what to call it) movie I have seen in my life.

DDLJ is still being played at Mumbai's Maratha Mandir. The weekend shows are 'House Full' and the weekday shows run at 60% capacity.

Check this link.

People flocking towards movies is there everywhere in the world. Watching hero and heroine dancing behind trees in Swizz is far better than watching people doing impossible things like jumping over a tree and lake, standing and fighting by standing in a bamboo tree. It is far far better than watching a movie where impossible is shown as possible with graphics and animation. Graphics cannot show emotions of a human being as it is.

And one more thing Mr.Hu Jiabao. While posting, post things that are related with the context. Dont unncecessarily comment on a country and its citizens.

But 68% knows spelling of Literacy. So it doesnt matter if the actor is running behind the actress behind trees.

I think it's probably 'Because of', not 'Despite'.
Surprising? Hardly.

"cut and paste",

Welcome to JavaRanch. We don't have many rules here, but we do have a naming policy which we try to strictly enforce. Please re-read this document and edit your display name in order to comply. Thanks in advance, and we look forward to seeing you around the Ranch.

Thanks raghu. I really appreciate you changing your name to try and comply with out policies. Please take another look here though, as we need to ask you to adjust your name one more time. The owner requires that all users have both a legitimate first name and a legitimate last name in their display name. So if you could just add a last name to your display name we'll be good to go. Thanks again for your participation and cooperation.

Hi,
There is nothing to write about this movie.Has all the 'virtues' of notorious hindi movies of the 90's(Irrelevant song and dance number's,fight's etc.,).It is great to have many young Indian directors discarding these stereotype story lines like a garbage.

One who has seen all time great movies like Pater Pancholi(By S.Ray) will find it very hard to appreciate this movie.

So let me get this straight. We're talking about a movie that has been running continuously for ten years? Wow! So how many theatres have been showing it? One? Ten? A thousand?

How many times have you seen it?

There are a few movies like this in the U.S., but they're so-called "cult movies", that have a dedicated audience that sees it over and over again, often in costume. The best known example of this is "The Rocky Horror Picture Show", which has been running for more than 20 years, somewhere, anyway. But they always show it at midnight, after the regular crowds are going home.

It is a sugary sweet movie, and I would get diabetes watching it more than once.. but then, I have a low tolerance to sugar.. and I imagine there are many people with a sweet tooth!
