hi,

c:>javap -c <classname>.class

is not converting the my .class file to .java file please help.

What you're looking for is a java decompiler.

i want to do it from the command prompt.

It's called a decompiler no matter how you invoke it. I prefer JODE to jad, but neither has arrived in the era of Java 5 (and likely neither of them ever will), so the code you're getting may be decidedly less than the original source.
