Hello ,

Well i don't know if this is right thread to ask this question, but yet i am putting it here. My application when installed on this path C:\Program Files \xxxx folder on a vista machine doesn't work properly when i log in as a normal user but when i run it as an administrator account it works properly. However when the app. is installed elsewhere i mean on other directory where OS is not installed it is working properly. Is there any possibility that i can do something in Java way to get it work or it is just Vista issue? My application is a desktop application.I used JMF and Swing. The part that works erratically is when i am checking whether a File exists or not.It it does not exist then another window gets popped up. But when run as normal user the code says the file exists even if there is no file.

Thanks
Girish

My guess it has something to do with Vista's "improved" security handling. Apart from turning of User Access Control (UAC) I don't think there is much you can do.
