Hello all ranchers,

Till few months back I was preparing for the SCJP 5 exam and have
K & B book for SCJP 5.0. Now I am seriously thinking whether to go
SCJP 6.0 instead.
So, is there anybody with the idea about the differences
between the two versions(5 & 6) of SCJP book by K & B?
And which are chapters being different? Can I continue
with the version 5 book to do most of the preparations
for version 6?

Thanks in advance.

Hi, you can read what the authors say on limited preview of the book SCJP Sun Certified Programmer for Java 6 (Exam 310-065):

http://books.google.com/books?id=Eh5NcvegzMkC&printsec=frontcover&hl=it#PRA1-PA21,M1

Hope this helps

Hi Guys,

If you've already got the version 5 book, don't buy the version 6 book unless you have a lot of spare money - in which case, buy two

The differences between the two books is very small in terms of new topics (the new topics are the Console class and Navigable collections). The new book fixes some small problems the old book had and the new book has about 70(?) new, additional questions, but other than that they are the same.

hth,

Bert

Thanks Mr. Bates for pointing out the differences. The reply was very helpful to me.
