Hi All,

I have scored:-

60% in HFSJ 1st Edition Mock Exam and
50% in HFSJ 2nd Edition Mock Exam

After achieving these scores, I am short of confidence for SCWCD. Should I go for the certification or should I purchase Enthuware mocks or something similar and complete the mocks before giving the certification?

Please suggest.

Thanks

I'd like to bump this thread to ask the same question really.

I have been finalising studies on the SCWCD using HFSJ (first version, for SCWCD 1.4). Yesterday I did the final coffee cram exam, and got 70% (49/69).

Most of my mistakes were due to the fact that I crossed one option extra or less than the right options. Given that the real exam shows how many options are correct, I think I should be allright.

Anyone here to comment on this? Am I ready to take the exam? I will be analysing my mistakes more thoroughly this weekend.

There is a rough rule of thumb that you'll tend to get at least 10% more in the actual exam than in the HFSJ (mainly because of the not knowing how many options).

The exam style of HFSJ is I found subtly different to the actual exam, but not wildly out. However I've only used the 2nd edition exam, not sure how the first edition compares.

If you are getting 70% in the HFSJ mock I'd say there is a very good chance of getting an 80%+ score. Higher still if you spend a bit of the weekend making sure you've nailed the design patterns, and looking at some of the other (free) resources in the links section.

Buying an exam simulator mock may not be a bad idea for confidence, but tbh I don't think you'll need it.

Go for it, after all the OP got 60% in the HFSJ mock and passed SCWCD with over 90%!

Rufus.

Okay, thanks people. I'll set up an exam in the next 2 to 3 weeks (can't get it done any sooner). I'll report back with the result

My suggestion would be to take your own sweet time, noone is running behind you to finish it off.

I have read HFSJ atleast 10 times now, still havent taken the final exam. I have just started with the free mock exams available on the internet, I am keeping the final mock exam for the end.

Just in case you get wrong answers for questions in mock, My suggestion would be to note them down and start reading around those areas again, by this way you can break the 10% benchmark set by dont know who

All the best to you and to me as well

Well, thought I'd bump this thread one more time... After taking everyone's advice, I took another month and took the exam today. Happy to have cleared it with 97%.

You can read about it here.

Ankit, you can pass the exam just from the strength of having passed Enthuware topic tests. You will discover that it covers the classes of problems, and after you have taken the exam, those classes of problems will have become familiar.
