True or Not?

One point to consider is this: What is the connection, if any, between authentication and encryption?

Thank you. I ask this because Head First doesn't mention SSL in CLIENT-CERT at all. It just says that this authentication gives the client a Pulic Key.

Yup, authentication and encryption are separate things. So the question of whether some form of authentication supports encryption is misleading. They can be used to together, but they don't have to.
