No, not for application managed entity managers (see jpa spec 5.7).

Type of EntityManager:Transaction-Scoped OR extended.

Yes: If the entity manager is container managed, you can use the field "type" in @PersistenceContext (extended only applies for stateful session beans!). And application managed entity managers are always extended (see again jpa spec 5.7).
