Doubts about thin and fat clients

+Pie Number of slices to send: Send
Hi,

What is better? Thin clients or fat clients? Or it depends on the situation?
A rich page on a web application, built with Ajax, is considered to be a fat or a thin client? Is a fat client when you have to install something on the client's machine?
A thick client is the same as a fat client?

Depends on the situation.

No, Ajax only helps in making communication with the Server as seamless as possible but the server still does much of the heavy lifting.

Yes, like the Flash Player or the Java Plugin for running applets...

Yes, Thick = Fat.

Also, have a look at the 2 tier architecture versus the three tier architecture.
Would anybody like some fudge? I made it an hour ago. And it goes well with a tiny ad ...
