hi,
Like other java certifications(prometric), whether we will know our results atonce?

You will have to wait for 6-8 weeks to get the results. They will either email you the results or you can check your status at prometric site.

Considering the beta closed on December 10th, I'm assuming that results will probably be available roughly around February 10th.

We got the beta results for netbeans exam after 6 weeks, so maybe we will have some news soon as we completed 6 weeks yesterday (January, 21).
8 weeks will be completed by February, 4th.

Typically, Sun's rather good about the whole thing - they'll put the results up electronically, and you get a printed score report shortly thereafter. If you pass, the packet follows in a few days more.
(Course, this all may depend on where you're located. )

Another way to see the result is by going to your Candidate History page in your Prometric account. Cheers!

The passing score was already defined:

Sun Certified Developer for Java Web Services 5 (CX-310-230)
Exam type: Multiple choice, drag and drop
Number of questions: 69
Pass score: 68% (47 items of 69 questions)
Time limit: 150 minutes

http://www.sun.com/training/catalog/courses/CX-310-230.xml

But no results until now...

WSD 5 Production - SOAP 1.1

WSD 5 beta - WS-I BP 1.1
WSD 5 Production - WS-I BP 1.0a

I would say this is ... unprofessional

Actually it seems they just "copy & paste" the test content from the old exam (JAX-RPC)... and now they've added the notes: "Detailed information and modules to be posted soon."

So, probably the passing score is also from the old exam... let's wait...

Also, they offer Web-based Practice Exam for 310-220. There is no Practice Exam for 310-230.

See, I'd take this as a "good sign" that they're getting ready to release the beta scores, if they're starting to fill stuff in. Regardless, might as well all calm down until there's actually something on Prometric or i7.

Hm, I cannot say it's professional. I've heard about copy & paste from old content more than one time on Sun website.

Congrats. (Mine still says 'Tested', so I'm figuring it should flip to passed or failed tomorrow or next week.)

Edit: Maybe it's just my work PC caching or something, or the results filtered in through the day. Mine shows Passed now too.

OH, YEAH !!!

Can't believe I PASSED !!! ( my hand is shaking now... )

I cram up for 1 month only, though I have some experience on AXIS2 web service, but it's really a tough test, I really don't have much hope on it.

Prometric/Sun snail-mails you the score report - it'll just take a little while longer to reach you. (Which is a vast improvement over Microsoft, who simply lets you know you passed.)

Since I also passed, I feel something is wrong with the exam. I didn't prepare anything for SCDJWS 5. Preparation was only for the old version. Had no hope of passing it. May be the first person to be a bit upset after passing the exam. Is Sun Certifications losing its value???

Even if you just prepared for the old version of the exam (which is my case as well), I think there is still a big chance to pass the exam since most of the questions still applies to the old version. We all made great efforts in preparing and undertaking the exam, let's just all be happy that we were able to pass it.
