Hi,
I've been thinking to take SCDJWS for some time now. However, in Sun's site, I still find the exam to be for J2EE 1.4 only.
I've seen some posts here in this forum discussing the SCDJWS 5 beta exam.
Can anyone confirm me whether the v.5 exam is on the way and soon be available?
And while we are on this topic, can you please suggest me some good books for this exam. I had great help from java ranch before I took SCBCD 5. So I guess I'll get some useful info this time as well.

Thanks,
Ankur

The fact that there is a beta exam indicates that a new exam is coming, but I don't think any fixed date has been announced when it will be available.

The standard book for the old exam was the one by Richard Monson-Haefel, but since the new exam objectives have only just been posted publicly, there's no book yet for the new one.

I talked about the books here: https://coderanch.com/t/419089/java-Web-Services-SCDJWS/certification/RMH-SCJWSD-Beta.

I also provided some links here: https://coderanch.com/t/419085/java-Web-Services-SCDJWS/certification/SCDJWS-links-available-here

Hi all,
Thanks a lot for your suggestions and links.
About the links, this one didn't work actually:
I talked about the books here: https://coderanch.com/t/419089/java-Web-Services-SCDJWS/certification/RMH-SCJWSD-Beta.

And while we are on this topic, I have one more query.

While I was preparing for BCD, I first prepared from HF EJB 2.0, then I came to know its BCD 5, i.e., EJB 3.0 that I should get prepared for the new exam. And then EJB 3.0 was a lot different from EJB 2.0.

Now in case of DJWS, if I start with a book for SCDJWS for J2EE 1.4, and when a book for SCDJWS for J2EE 1.5 is out, I patch up with it, is it possible? I mean Web Services for J2EE 1.5, is it completely a makeover of Web Services for J2EE 1.4, or is it like some new things added to the old one and some enhancements?

Can you please suggest?

Thanks and Regards,
Ankur
