Hi,

I was preparing and planning to give SCDJWS 4. But now i have come to know that SCDJWS 5 is comming. (beta in jan 09 i guess).

I have sun certification voicher which is expiring in jan 09 end.

I am confused abt, should i give SCDJWS 4 or not. (Or to go for other sun exam.)

Is it possible to give SCDJWS 4 now and to go for only new topics from SCDJWS 5?

Please let me knwo your comments.

Thanks in advance.

Rohit,

If you have already studied for SCDJWS 4 then go for it because SCDJWS 5 will take a little time to come (maybe in Feb-Mar). If you are comfortable then go for SCDJWS 4 , you can then learn extra things of SCDJWS 5.

Hello,

I am also preparing for SCDJWS 4. My question is, is there any new learning material for the version 5 that is coming out?

There is definitely new material to learn, however it is going to be even more scattered than it was for the SCDJWS 1.4 (for quite some time). The real problem for the SCDJWS 5 is that RMH isn't going to be updated (the author has moved on to other things). This is a problem if you are new to web services. So its basically a huge stack of specifications, white papers, and standards that you have plow through.

The only dedicated preparation book for the SCDJWS 1.4 (310-220) still hasn't been published (So far that is a 4 year delay - amazon.com seems to have doubts that it will ever go to print)

Some ranchers are already trying to compile a list of information sources necessary to cover the SCDJWS 5 objectives.
