I have been in
Java Ranch for long time with read only mode ^^"
I passed the SCEA5 part 1 on Monday, the exam is really thought.
Just want to share my exp~
6+ years experienced including: a. design and develop (EJB2.x, 3, Hibernate,
Struts, Spring, Ajax, Flex, WS, BPEL, MQ&MS Broker,
JSF, ADF, RMI, Swing, and etc.)
b. conduct
J2EE design
pattern, SCWCD, SCBCD,
SCJP, OO-AD, SOA, and Software Engineer & Process, RMI, etc..
my preparation here: 1. I took around 1 month with 2 hours(workday)and 5 hours(weekend)
2. Review current knowledge with Whiztlab and surf what i don't know thru the internet. (such as CORBA, and IDL)
3. SL425 materials for common architecture, and design consideration
4. Review JSF ->

About the exam
1. 80% are scenario based, be careful about time.
2. Lots of business tier and web tier questions
3. Design pattern questions are short.
4. Only one question on non-functional requirement -_-
5. Web service and many JAX
Unfortunately, on the exam date, i got flu and headache.
Because i played soccer in the rain on the day before. -_- so stupid
I had not much energy when doing the exam, and felt like dying.
So!, prepare your health also.
I hope my experience can give you some advantage.
