Hi All,

I completed SCJP 6 today and scored 85% (61 out of 72). Although I was previously certified in SCJP 1.4, I was a bit reluctant to take the Upgrade exam, and took the full exam. The materials that I used are SCJP book by Katherine and Bert, Whizlabs Simulator and wrote lots of small programs. The Whizlabs simulator is excellent and lets you know when you are ready for the exam. I scored 59/72 in the Whizlabs Final Exam, and scored 61/72 in the original SCJP exam!

-Thanks,
Rakesh.R

Congratulations!

Why were you reluctant to take the upgrade exam? The upgrade exam is exactly meant for people like you, who are already SCJP certified and who want to upgrade to a newer version. It covers the same topics as the full exam, and the certificate that you get is exactly the same.

The only real difference is that the full exam is more expensive...

NOT REALLY..both upgrade and full exam cost the same(upgrade used to be cheaper earlier.not anymore)..and that is the reason why I took the full exam even though I had 1.4 certification.

Since I took two full mock exams(covering all the topics) in Whizlabs, I thought I would go for the full exam itself, rather than the upgrade. A known devil is better than an unknown angel, they say .
