Any body please give me advise for a good 2 month collage project. I am thinking about mail server (a web site that will provide mail service). What can be other options in java?

Thanks.

Here are some projects, which *we* developed (tried to develope) in our collage:

1] virtual private network.
2] implementation of call centre.
3] railway reservation (old one).
4] cyber cafe management.
4] shopping centre management (bar code reader and....).

etc.

Hope it helps.

Mail Server is also good. But I think, it will be like 'company's internal mail server', they can't send mails to others and vice versa (although it doesn't happen in all the company)... because you will not launch it on actual running server (hope I am right here) and there are lots of other issues also like domain name, registration etc.

But its Okay to build even that...communication within server (or site)...

Please correct me if I am wrong somewhere.

Thanks.

We developed robotic arm to provide exercise to paralysed man, controlled by computer.

Sounds interesting

But it was small prototype that would provide movement to small iron rod through stepper motor; motor speed and angle was function of virtual patient's temprature, heartbeat etc ..
