select sysdate from dual

i want the date in 1-nov-2008 instead of 01-nov-2008


Can any one help me

Use format masking, for example

SELECT TO_CHAR(sysdate,'FMDD-MON-YYYY') FROM DUAL

note,I haven't tested it.

You also have the option of changing the NLS_DATE_FORMAT.
