Hi,

My application is currently deployed on JBoss 4 and we have to evaluate the application performance on WAS6. to start with we like to test the app on both the app server.

At this point we don;t want to have two machines and rather use the same machine for bother these app servers.

I am trying to find out the implecations of having JBOSS and WAS at the same machine. What kind of CPU i have to have for the same for optimal performance and also any other suggestion which i should be taking care of.

A quick response will be appriciated.

Thanks,
Mukesh

PS: Sorry if i posted it in a wrong forum, if so, moderator please send it to the right one please.

Will you be running them at the same time or will you alternate between the two of them? Because you will be doing performance measurements, I suggest running only one at a time. In that case, your only concern is having enough disk space to hold Websphere.

What is your current hardware configuration?

If you need to run both at the same time, just make sure that they are not using the same ports. Your hardware should be sufficient for a small to medium workload.
