Hi Everyone,

I would consider myself a beginner/intermediate when it comes to servlets and JSP. I have recently rekindled my enjoyment of servlets and JSP. I have not really done any work in Servelts and JSP for about a year so I am a bit rusty

I bought "Head First Servlets and JSP" at the weekend but having read some reviews of it on the internet I am not convinced I made a wise decision

I was just wondering if anyone could suggest some good books to bring me up to speed.

Thanks.

I'm a JSP noob and reading JavaServer Pages (3rd Edition) written by Hans Bergsten (O'Reilly).
look here
It is good structured and easy to read. Servlets and Taglibs are also mentioned, but not very detailed.

This one is pretty good:
http://www.murach.com/books/jsps/index.htm

Somewhat boring at times, but I found it quite easy to follow.

"Head First Servlets and JSP" is a good book for beginner and intermediate level, why not focus on it? Try create simple JSP/Servlets application as practice will make you more understand it.

I will suggest get involve in practice, the more you study the more you forget ~

Hi Guys, thanks for your replys.

I fully intend on working through the Head First Servlets and JSP book, having spent 30 on it !

I have read that Core Servlets and JSP is a good book to work through. Anyone used it before?

Murach's JSP/Servlets book is good and easy to follow with simple examples and little web app at the end... Core Servlets and JSP is good too but if you already have HF Servlets and JSP use that book. Find source code of some web app that uses JSP/Servlets and use it with your book.
