Aavalar Consulting has been contracted by a client near Wilmington DE to provide a senior level
JAVA Developer to build custom interfaces to an instrument control system. This consultant will need to have experience developing Web services because the next version of the system will provide a browser based interface for end users. This is a great opportunity to for someone who wants to mix engineering and computer science in a cutting edge, multi-tier, Java development environment. Also, there will be some support activities which will provide an opportunity to interface with our client's internal users in different departments.
It is anticipated that this assignment will last several years, and our client may want to turn this into a contract to hire at some point down the road for the right person.

Work environment: Cube and lab in a fairly typical large suburban office park

What projects will the consultant be involved with?:
> Ongoing customization and support of a very complicated instrument management system
Responsibilities:
> 80+% new development in a Java
J2EE environment
> 10% to 20% support of existing code base
Role with the group: Individual Contributor - No management responsibilities
Required Skills:
> Solid Java J2EE Development experience
> User interface development experience using
JSP (for current release)
> User interface development experience using
JSF (for next release)
> Web Services development experience
> Weblogic Application Server development experience
Desired Skills:
> Oracle development and configuration experience
