Not possible...atleast as much as I know. Either increase your budget or search in MiraRoad or Bhayandar. Rents in Mumbai have gone up....

1BHk cost minimum 15K in areas you are looking for.In 8K you can get 1BHK in New Mumbai (Vashi, Sanpada...) or 1RK in western suburb Goregaun to Boriwali. Broker will ask anywhere from 1 months rent to 2 months rent as a brokerage. Also you need to pay at least 30K at deposit.

Does you company provide pick & drop facility? If, yes, ask for the routes available and then decide. Where exactly your company located in Andheri?

I suggest that initially you should shift alone and live in bachelors house for a month. Get yourself familiar with Mumbai and decide which area is better for you to rent a flat and then start flat hunting. If

Banddra till Andheri is costly area.Vile-Parle will cost minimum 13/15K/month for 1 BHK.Leave aside Santacruz-Bandra area which will be costlier than VP.Try at Goregaon(E) or Goregaon(W).Generally East sides are relatively cheaper than West one.The far end-Powai is 8 to 9K/month minimum.Central Mumbai(Bhandup/Kanjur Marg/Vikhroli) are little cheaper-still 7 to 8K/month for 1 BHK.

The rent for 1BHK in Powai and surrounding area is around 15K and Bhandup/Kanjur Marg/Vikhroli is around 10K.

Renting a property has became very expensive in Mumbai in recent past.

As the real estate sector slows down, people prefer to live in rented accomdations and wait till things settle down.

BTW, 15k for 1 BHK is shocking. Here in Delhi one can get a comfy 3BHK society falt for that amount. Also thanks for the inputs, I would keep in mind the rent while negotiating with the company.
