unfortunately the book you provide me stays in the surface doesn't go beyond death. Everybody want to live nobody want to die proof is what your friend is doing a Komen 3-day walk in order to fight for cancer.afterall nobody want to die. we all fight death in a way or the other.my question is does life ends after death?

i was browsing yesterday found interesting article of times magazine: excerpts
What sort of methods will this project use to try and verify people's claims of "near-death" experience?

When your heart stops beating, there is no blood getting to your brain. And so what happens is that within about 10 sec., brain activity ceases as you would imagine. Yet paradoxically, 10% or 20% of people who are then brought back to life from that period, which may be a few minutes or over an hour, will report having consciousness. So the key thing here is, Are these real, or is it some sort of illusion? So the only way to tell is to have pictures only visible from the ceiling and nowhere else, because they claim they can see everything from the ceiling. So if we then get a series of 200 or 300 people who all were clinically dead, and yet they're able to come back and tell us what we were doing and were able see those pictures, that confirms consciousness really was continuing even though the brain wasn't functioning.

the whole article here: What Happens When We Die?

i want to experience the wonderful things(tunnel of life, meeting the great being[GOD] people have witness through their near death experience).

i want to live forever.does anyone know how to live forever?

I'll see if i can find the study, but i know i read about it once. They did a study of patients who claimed to have died on the operating table. they asked detailed questions about what the person saw. many talked about hovering over the table, looking down from a great height, and seeing the nurses, doctors, etc. working to save them. The talked about all the equipment they saw, etc.

Not ONE of them was able to recall the fact that the researchers put something like a smilie face or a big number 7 on top of some of the equipment, that would only be seen by someone above it. Certainly not PROOF they weren't hovering above, but strong evidence they were not.

your atoms and molecules become part of other organisms so in that sense you never really die.

According to hindu mythology what happens after death?

There is moksha (liberation) or another birth. It could be in an animal or human body. It depends of your previous actions, and thoughts at the moment of death.
ex: if you think of your cat when you'll die, you will be reicarnated in a cat. If you are spiritual enough you could be reincarnated in a human body, if your thoughts are about God, you could attain Moksha.

You have better death benefits in your medical plan than I do, then. My booklet just says:

Death Benefits

Forget it. There's no benefit in being dead.

In the sense that "you" includes your present consciousness of yourself, you as "you" would have stopped existing in the example you gave.

That is true though certainly not something that accompanies death exclusively. self conscious is really just a mental state or an attribute of being in a certain mental state ie: being conscious of self. Tragically asylums, old age homes are filled with people who have lost precisely that.

I would say being truly self conscious also requires some degree of abstract intelligence as you need to be aware that you are aware of you being aware in the first place, which is why I believe your assertion may be false as plants, most animals etc. according to what you specified then aren't existing at all as they lack that intelligence to be aware of them being aware of their awareness.

You could try sitting inside a refrigerator for an extended period of time.
After all, doesn't everybody know frozen food lasts longer?

Yes, but the food has to be frozen quickly or else the crystals that form are too large, and the integrity of the cells is damaged... the well known mushy strawberry effect. Or mushy fish effect, if you will.

Not sure a refrigerator would help.

After you die the process of life, breathing , making energy stops , as a result you stop thinking and communicating and people consider you a non living thing and organic waste so they bury you / cremate .
though there is no scientific evidence some religions say your soul either goes to hell or heaven or reborn in some other form based on what ever you did in earlier life

You change your form after leaving human body and based on your sins you are reborn from any where between a insect to human being.

If life were energy it wouldnt be destroyed as per physics laws its changes its form

I heard last week that Einstein, although he has been dead for 53 years, is still earning US$ 18 million a year. (Because his face and name are so famous, and every time someone sells something with his face on, his family still gets money).
