Just reading the title I was going to suggest breathing. Here's what I'd prescribe for Sri Anand.
Inhale to the count of 6 Hold to the count of 4 Exhale to the count of 2 Hold to the count of 2
If on the other hand you need to calm down try... Inhale to the count of 2 Hold to the count of 2 Exhale to the count of 6 Hold to the count of 4
Do each of them as many times as you feel you need to, but a dozen or so cycles should be plenty. You may not be used to oxygen as odd as that sounds, so don't overdo it. Increase or decrease the counting to suit yourself, maybe you can do more, maybe less.
Aruna, having more coffee is injurious for health because it will take more time by kidney to filter out the caffene from blood, and it will result in less sleep....why i am saying this is because it is damn sure he will follow your openion...and will become an addict
so i think the better option will be to some exercise....... walk for a while after every 30-40 minutes........
Better option will be find out a thing which you love to do........ do it while you feel sleepy
I thought the recent research showed coffee may offer protection against a number of common diseases (colon cancer, Parkinsons, liver disease, etc) and that caffeine is a very safe substance. There is enormous individual variation in how long it takes the body to process caffeine and how it effects people. Personally, I can't drink coffee much past the afternoon, else my night sleep is affected.
As far as addiction, people do not seem to require ever increasing amounts of caffeine to get the same effect nor do they suffer much from sudden deprivation (headaches for a few days).
Extra strong tea, which is also healthy, can provide needed caffeine as well. I actually sometimes combine both. [ December 12, 2008: Message edited by: herb slocomb ]
If I'm very sleepy then i choose coffee myself but otherwise smoking does it for me. Its a stimulant so it does make you feel alert but the effect is not as lasting as coffee. A cup of Tea doesn't do anything at all for me for some reason, maybe because we(Indians) are consuming it even before we are born.
I really wish workplaces could start instituting a half hour sleep rule/allowance after lunch, studies have proven time and again that there are benefits to be had but who wants to look unproductive and useless when instead you can appear busy but be dying inside?
Maybe you have Sleep Apnea. It is a very common problem. I have it, and I am definitely always sleepy everywhere because of it. But a c-pap machine really helps out. But you would need to do a sleep study to find out if you truly have it.
