please suggest some travel destinations (other than Vegas ) in/around California for the Xmas-new year period... the weather is bad almost everyplace I can think of!

Go to the Caribbean. It's here (Leeward Antilles) average 30 degrees celsius thoroughout the year. Every day.

San Diego has never had bad weather any time I've ever visited it.

The Caribbean is nice too, but "near California"
