two days ago when i drive from new york to connecticut, it was 2am, i am tired. i found a car followed me for ~10 miles, i thought it was just a car, i was wrong, it was a police car.

suddenly the light was on, i was shocked, had no choice but to pull over, the police walk up my window, asked: "i found you drive sometimes fast, sometimes slow, sometimes to the left, sometimes to the right, are you under influence, did you drank alcohol?"

i replied proudly: "no sir, i have not drink alcohol in over a month"

The pursuit of happiness is such a massive part of human existence, but do we really know what it is?

Every non-accidental action we do is because we want to, so we could argue that happiness is the desired result of every deliberate action. On the other hand, some people deliberately take actions which seem to result in less happiness, so this is debatable.

The biologist would argue that happiness is a result of a chemical reaction in a person's brain. In this case, happiness is a chemical formula. This seems a bit prosaic though. We've got a great attachment to happiness, and would probably rather find a more spiritual and philosophical explanation for it... ironically because this would make us happier.

Question: if its morally good to achieve maximum happiness, then would it be morally good to spray a happiness chemical across the entire planet which made everyone so happy that they sunk into a deliriously cheerful trance? The entire human race stoned and useless, but very happy. Good or bad?
