Lock text fields in java?? Please elaborate, the context?
Java - Make it static final (Constant).
database - you need to create mechanism on your own, for whatever criteria you want
JSP - disable the text field

but reminds that with " setEditable(false) " the component still receives focus. if you don't also want that, make " setFocusable(false)"
