Google is very much commercial for those companies who have taken out an advert to appear at the side! But I see what you mean.
Generally I've been a bit disappointed with the online purchases I've made. I live in a flat with an unusual address - we have a flat number and the block of flats has a different number e.g. I live at Flat X at Y on road Z. Unfortunately most websites don't seem to be able to cope with it, and send the deliveries to building X instead of building Y. I've also had many problems with websites attempting to authorise my card because of the funny address.
The trouble with ordering stuff on the Internet is that web pages just aren't as flexible as real people. Most things I've attempted to order have had to be followed up with a phone call to clarify and correct my details.
The only thing I think I've ordered from the Internet and had arrive, without delay and without major problems was when getting a computer from Dell. I was quite impressed - I was taking advantage of a good deal in the sales, so I assumed that a lot of other people would be too and was expecting a delay. Despite that it came quickly and (unlike 99% of other companies) they delivered on a saturday.
