Saha,

As a Bengali/Assami you would naturally be hurt. I agree with you that he should not have been removed now. He should have been allowed to play more matches and then remove him if he does not play well.

When India played in Kolkatt, the bengali people booed the Indian team with vulgar comments against all the inidian players and they felt happy when India lost the match but when Saurav Ganguly played in Delhi, the Delhi crowd did not boo Saurav.

Please dont see Saurav as a Bengali. See him as a Jewel in Indian cricket. He does not belong to on particular region. He belongs to the whole nation. Everybody recongizes that Saurav has contributed a lot to the Indian cricket. He is certainly the best captain India ever had.

He has been a failure for all most two years (except against Zimbabwe) but he could retain his captaincy because of the politics played by Dalmia.

Now, he lost his place in the team, so he should play again in domestic cricket and prove his worth and get back into the team.

He should not get into the team because Bengalis are making agitations/strikes. Ths will remain as a bad mark for the greatest captain of India.

At this point of time, instead of removing Gautam Gambhir who is out of form, they removed saurav Ganguly. I was shocked when they did it.

The selectors should not have removed Saurav. The hero of the nation does not deserve such a hostile treatment. India must know how to respect its own heroes.

I am very sure that Saurav will get back to the team and make tons again. Saurav is known for his fighting spirit. He will fight it out and get back to the team.

Regards

Other Indian cricketers (Ex Laxman) faced the similar treatment so many times in past when Ganguly and Dalmiya were ruling BCCI. So why such a hue and cry for Ganguly alone. Let the selectors do their job as they did it in past.
Otherwise, tomorrow if they drop Laxman all Hydrabadis will come down to street ..

If Ganguly has the fighting spirit he will come back .. no doubt. Everybody has to go thru this phase, some people will take it as a challenge while other will make it emotional issue to get a public sympathy. Come on Dada fight back with bat and ball and not with stones and sticks.

Yes, I support selectors decision. FOR

Majority Indian people are driven by emotions and not by facts.

That is why we fought on the name of language, state, religion, caste and so on. And stupid politician are using us to get elected.

Indian people are more responsible for what happening in Indian politics and Indian cricket.

Why people of Calcutta were sleeping when Dalmia and Ganguly taken Indian cricket for a ride in past? And why people of Mumbai are sleeping when Pawar and company taking Indian cricket for ride now?

If a small matter of dropping a player from national cricket team can spark division on the basic of state, do you think that India is mature enough as a country?

Nope.People and politicians( ) are not mature enough. Bengalis become angry after Gaguly is dropped because Ganguly is from Bengal.Mumbai newspapers don't criticize Tendulkar because he is from Mumbai and Marathi.
Reason is people always try to see themselves in their icons or role models.

The Karnataka govt. had decided to rename lot of cities in Karnataka. I think even the chief Minister Dharam Singh should change his name. When are changing your name?

Laxman got a chance and is proving his talent. Because he got to know that, he has to perform well if he want to stay in team.
why all this hue and cry for Sourav.
Cricket is not for bengal. Let sourav prove his talent in domestic cricket. Selectors will automatically consider him.
If bengal is so much impressed by sourav.... better make him bengal team captain.

It's OK to dump him as captain, but he is a good batsman; and he will deliver if given chance.

FORFORFORFORFORFOR

Why does the nation have to waste its time on this issue? This only happens in India.

Coach has better views. Chappel took the right decision by removing Ganguly out, because he wants to build a strong team for 2007 world cup. I dont think Chappel has any thing against Ganguly personally. He is a professional and every one knows Greg Chappel's capability.

Now Ganguly's inclusion will cause lots problems to the team and to the order.

First off all, Where does this man fit?

If he is sent as the opener, without any doubt he will come back to pavilion in the first over or he will be stay there without making many runs but will eat all the time. Then the MPs will say that he has become the scapegoats for the Board politics.

If he is sent in the middle order, with his (notorius) slow running , he will get other batsmen runout. Then the MPs will say that other players are playing politics against Ganguly by saying that they got themselves run out to blame Ganguly.

Pakistan has already preparing bouncy pitches. Lets see how this man will perform on those pitches.

Past glory of a player should not be the qualification to get into the Indian team. Look at the Aussies selection criteria.

Its time for younger generation. There is no point why we have to have people (like Ganguly)who can not perform and spoil the team's unity. Please note that he did not play Ranji because he is scared that he woould not be able to make good scores.

Why does not this man take retirement and make money on his restaurant business? He made enough money on Cricket.

Thanks
Debo

He will not retire until ICC/people dump him. I heard in the news channel (before he was dumped) that he wanted to play for another 4-5 years and then wants to become Coach !!!

I ask, who the heck wants him in the team - forget about being coach.
