I would say top of my list are Major League (I would say the whole series), Remember the Titans, and Hoosiers

The worst would be Rollerball

well, Strange Brew has some hockey in it.

Caddyshack is a must for any sports movie list.

Any Given Sunday is a great one. It helps if you know a few things about football (the American kind) beforehand.

Bull Durham and A League of Their Own are good ones; the latter would have been great if Rosie O'Donnel weren't in it.

Fever Pitch was the worst movie I've seen in several years.

[Eric]: The worst would be Rollerball

I haven't seen the remake Eric refers to, but I think the original version was a pretty good movie.

Shaolin Soccer is an interesting movie. Everyone that I know, who is male, liked it. Everyone that I know, who is female, absolutely hated it !!

"Tin Cup"
"Bull Durham"
( Weird, because I'm not particularly a Kevin Costner fan. Scary. Maybe its subconscious... )
"A League of Their Own"
"Remember the Titans"
"Miracle"

And I thought "Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story" was very silly and hilarious.

Happy Gilmore

I lived in Boston for years and didn't think of that! The shame, the same!

Slapshot is one of the greats. The Hanson brothers still play now & then. And still carry toy cars in their luggage.

Chariots of Fire

That's a great one. For some reason it didn't occur to me to categorize it as a sports movie, although, obviously, it is. Maybe because sports is just a manifestation of a driven-ness that goes way deeper, and as such, is really only incidental to the themes at hand.

Yeah, that's how I feel about "Bend it like Beckham" -- it's a very good movie, but didn't appear in my mental catalogue of "sports movies."

"The Replacements" is a great movie too. I love watching sports movies where the underdogs are going to win. But I was not into the mighty ducks! But the "Little Giants" was a good movie.

I just remembered another that doesn't get much notoriety, but a fantastic great movie, even if you don't like sports.

    "The Sandlot"

Since no one mentioned this. A baseball related movie that I really liked was For the love of the game.

Does Kung Fu (1972) qualify as a sports movie? I'm not sure.
