because all my fitness stuff are still in a michigan garage. i have to find a gym locally. i have some bad experience about gym in the past, some of them reqire an enrollment fee, some are pretty expensive w/o a yearly contract, some are small and old.

i look up in the phone book and run across one called "planet fitness". there are several location listed. i figured it might be OK. so i call them up, asking for price. they told me $10 per month plus enrollment fee $20. i am a little surprised, then asked how many treadmill do you have, they told me "80", 80? i asked them is that the total number for all locations, they said "no".

i am a litle confused, so i decided to drop by. it defintely worth a visit. the condition is great, and yes, it is true -- "$20 to join, $10 per month" the only catch is "you have to stay for 12 months", but, if you move your home more than 25 miles from any location, you are free to leave.

i guess with deal like this, no one would like to leave.

I have been running for over 30 years and I have only used a treadmill about three times in that period. I prefer to run outdoors if at all possible.

Of course if I lived in Michigan I might find out what "if at all possible" means in practice...
