When I use IE to try to open CNN's story, Mystery glitch seizes up Zunes en masse, IE refuses to open the page, and crashes instead.

(PS: I'm only using IE because I'm at work.)

Okay, this is seriously weird. Now IE balks on opening the CNN story, Downadup virus exposes millions of PCs to hijack. And it also did this a few days ago on a Vista story. I haven't seen this behavior on any non-MS news items. Is this pure coincidence?

It did that for me at first, for both pages. It displays the whole page, then decides there's a problem and bails out.

But then I went to the CNN home page and followed the links until I found the downadup story, and then I could load it just fine. It also displays the Zune 2K9 story just fine now, even if I paste the URL into the address bar. Even if I close IE and then reopen it, the problem doesn't happen any more.

Yeah, I've noticed it only seems to happen on the first attempt.
