Well, just like what a typical salesperson would always say to his/her potential customer,

"What kind of work will be done using the system? Gaming or working?"

If thats the case, look into a good investment on three items which are essential for good gaming purposes... they are,

1) Graphics Card
2) RAM
3) Processor

I think, with the above emphasis, it will definitely increase your gaming experience...

P.S.: The above emphasis are based for general gamers... if you are looking for FPS or Strategy games, then, it might varies.

No problem!

P.S.: You might want to read on compatibility issues over the RAM and motherboard. These can get very technical during times... but, helps you by ensuring minimal in-compatibility issues surfacing after purchase.

If you're planning on changing motherboards (something I'd recommend) get one with PCI Express graphics slots. Right now the best bang for your buck is the GEForce 6800gt. RAM is also pretty cheap these days, so you could probably double it for a small amount.

I actually upgraded my system about 3 months ago to an X2 dual core and I love it.

I would partially agree on getting a PCI Express Graphics slot motherboard for the new system.

For the agreeing part, it is really cool to see what the industry have to offer for this new addition. Especially when things are like going so well for it. It is also being backed with lots of new additions to what the technology can offer for a user of it.

As for the disagreeing part, put into consideration over how RD-RAM created a bang into the industry... and withdrawing from it as "loud" as it entered... (Don't know if it applies for other countries... but, it did left an impact for Singapore-based users...)

So, bottomline of it, do get clear with the stuffs first before making a decision...

How is PCIe Graphics different from AGP cards, in terms of performance.
