I still believe that vacuum tube power amplification produces a better sound than transistors. But I guess that's a physical characteristic of tubes that can never be emulated in solid state circuitry?
I'm talking of course, about the phenomenon of '
clipping', when one raises the power requirements of the amp a little over what it can deliver completely free of distortion... (AKA
Pump Up The Volume!)

Which immediately brings up the question "
What if you never raise the volume so high past the power amp's 'clipping'"? Is the tube sound still always better than the transistor sound?
