A lot has happened recently. The company I was working for closed their Denver office on Friday at 1 pm so I have joined the ranks of the unemployed.

I also had a tooth pulled this morning.

These things are making it very difficult for me to concentrate. I apologize for the delay. I'll try to post a list soon of the 23 assignments I have pending.

Yikes!!! Sorry to hear about the job Marilyn, even here in booming Denver jobs are being cut.
One of my house-mates just had all of his top teeth pulled, maybe I could email you some of his medications, get you through the discomfort. Of course, any nitpicks you do during that time would probably be totally bizarre, to say the least, but entertaining
Hang in there, and we'll start up a... Collection (hur hur) for you

Marilyn,
Too bad about the job. I hope you had a little warning at least. I don't know how the job market is where you are, but hopefully you will get something soon.

Gosh, Jason. All his top teeth! How horrible!

Not much warning, Daniel. About 5 minutes. Then we had the meeting and were told that we had half an hour to pack up our books and stuff and leave the building (after they collected our keys)

Yes, Greg, the very same job that I started in May.

I'm sorry to hear about your job loss. I got laid off last week, but I'm fortunate that the company will pay me up to two months while I try to find a job.
Good luck!
Lance

Marilyn, so sorry to hear your bad news!
I'm at risk of a similar situation myself right now. The way you were told though was particularly horrible. :-(

Marilyn, like everyone who has been blessed to have you nitpick their code, I am very sorry to hear about you getting let go from your job. Those bums
Gee, if you subscribe to the belief that bad things come in threes, you've only got one more bad thing to happen to you. Let's all hope it is only a minor bad thing, like spilling a glass of milk or something.

Marilyn,
I'm so sorry to hear your job news - I've been laid off at no notice before and it feels horrible when it happens. With your talents you should find another one real soon.

Dear Marily,
So sorry, I hope that you will find a suitable job very soon!
I just looked here and saw 14 reply's. But I did not expect this sad history for you.
At least we will press our thumbs (German: druecken Dir die Daumen) to get a replacement for your job soon.

Dear Marilyn-
Your situation reminded me of when I was working for the San Diego Ballet School. The board of directors had secretly decided to declare bankruptcy and close the school. We were informed by a letter in the mail even though we saw these people on a daily basis. I had 3 days notice, and no hope of a prospect locally. That's how I ended up in Las Vegas! Talk about a career change.
My husband was recently laid off from his job of 3 years. He came back to the office at the end of the day and they informed him that they had to let him go effective immediately. He was really stressed, but he found another job the next week and he's actually happier and healthier for it! Hang in there. Something good will come of this, I'm sure.

Marilyn,
Could we get another one of these updates? I sent my last submission in using a different email address, so I want to be sure you got it.
Thanks
