Hi;
the boss just showed up in my cube. He says he wants users to be able to have users of our web site be able to move content around and resize it like on igoogle. Of course he wants estimates.

since I don't know what technoligies are involved in IGoogle. I cannot say.

hoping somone out there knows something about IGoogle and how it works.

Google has a gaggle of internal toolkits that they use. Some are available, most are not.

To get something close to iGoogle, take a look at portlets -- there are quite a few java portal servers, that give similar functionality -- standardize on JSR 168.... now, unfortunately, I don't know which portal server that google uses.

I think this discussion is moving beyond the level of "beginners'." Moving . . . where, probably Portlets.
