Hi, im needing a bit of help with my Hons project. Im using netbeans to make a bit of software for the nokia n82 that has 3 parts

1) .txt reader - im wanting to basicly make a low tech version of notepad for the mobile: open , edit save thats all it needs to do.

2) the second bit reads a local xml file chosen from a list then displays the first each of the childs elements in their own text fields and then allows the user to go thru each child and displaying only its element

3)Does anyone know how to make java beep at a predefined frequency when you click start and stop?

Any help will do I have some of the UI there in place but im finding it a bit difficult to get the guts of the code.

I followed the file browser example on netbeans but how do you add .txt files to the emulator so i can see if it works right?

Thanks

I think you can add your text file to here assuming your installation done in drive C:\

and what do you mean in your 3rd question? do you need just a beep sound or what?

i found an example to help. I found the pianomidlet example thats on javatips.

Basicly i put the number of seconds in and the volume i want and then ive preset the frequency somewhere else on the same page. so then i press the tune button and it makes the desired frequency for the diesired time. its going to be used as a tuner for an instrument.

Only problem i have now, it works fine on the pc but when i transfer it to my mobile it acts weird. i put in 5s andit makes the noise for 1s but i put in 99s and it does so for 7s

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
