Hello all,
I'm sure some of my concerns have been addressed and I have skimmed some searches and FAQs.
I have been programming with
Java now for almost a year. I have read 2 very large books on it.
Taken 3 classes and have recently completed the recommended book
SCJP by by Sierra and Bates.
I'll admit I crammed this book in and did not take any notes but it left me feeling warm and fuzzy.
I worked all the self examination questions got 100% on almost all of them.
I then popped the cd in and took a look at the master exam.
Holy *@!
I am now terrified to take the exam.
On the disc there were questions with 50 lines of code on them.
Lots of "will not compile", or "cause run-time exception" questions.
And compound questions that went up to H! (8 options!).
I'm just wondering...
How realistic is this c.d.?
I read in the F.A.Q that the Moks are a little tougher.
I'm suddenly concerned seeing how $200 is not cheap at all in my book and tend to be a perfectionist.
I don't really believe in second attempts at a price that heavy.
How realistic is this thing?
Anybody here used this material and taken the SCJP with an open stance to share?
