UI framework and application framework

can any one tell me what is the difference between UI framework(JSF) and application framework(Springs) :?:

UI means user interface. JSF is for developing web applications, so is generally aimed at the front-end (what the user sees).

An application framework such as Spring is for the middle part of your application - dependency injection, managing transactions, aspect-oriented programming, general utilities, etc. Just to be clear, Spring happens to have a UI module as well (Spring MVC).
