I get really sad every time my wife and I wrap up watching the Firefly episodes and Serenity. It was such a great show. But since there's no real chance at the moment for that show to come back anytime soon can anyone recommend a series that is possibly on going that I might like considering my love for Firefly?

Battlestar Galactica?

I feel the same way about Firefly. Seems like there have been several shows in the middle of this decade too good, too smart to pull a large contemporary audience. Arrested Development is one of those for me too.

I think Joss Whedon is coming out with a new series soon -- here's to hoping that Fox don't screw that one up too.

I don't know if I would compare Firefly to Battlestar Galactica. One takes itself too seriously. The other is completely the opposite.

Joss Whedon's new show is called "The DollHouse", starring Eliza Dushku - "Faith" from BtVS. I've heard mixed reviews on the pilot. I've read that Fox did make him go back and tinker with the plotlines. I am worried it's going to be given a lousy time-slot and bounced from night to night so nobody can find it and it won't develop a fanbase and Fox will kill it after 3 episodes if it doesn't get monster shares in the ratings.

I hate Fox.

Funny, but of course, opinions always are different.

I loved Firefly, but to me Battlestar Galactica is the best show I have ever seen in my life.

Firefly was the best telivision show ever. Better than "The Tick". Better than "Invader Zim".

BG: I made it past the pegasus encounter. And then the soap opera factor got to be too much for me. But BG isn't even half as good as FF.

There's always Whedon's 7 season BTVS DVD collection followed by his 5 season DVD set "Angel".

Ok, a friend of mine introduced me to Dr. Horrible's sing-a-long blog last week and after watching what I consider to be a silly fun time I IMDB'd Joss Whedon. I found he was the creator of Firefly and with the plethora of people in my field and on this forum talking about how great it was I downloaded the entire season and finished it over the weekend. After watching the entire thing I believe I am qualified to make my only complaint: why is there no more?

Of those that saw the movie Serenity, what did you think?

I'm currently lookin into DLing a stargate series or BG. I want to start something from the beginning, and it doesn't have to be something I know about. You may only pick one series to recommend.
