What's the content of System.getProperty("java.class.path")?

Also, can you check your axis.jar file to see if the class is in there? Perhaps you have an older version.

Thanks Rob, XMLUtils is available in axis.jar and java.class.path has required JARs in place..

Just before this error, I have faced another error : ClassCastException
java.lang.ExceptionInInitializerError
at org.apache.axis.configuration.FileProvider.configureEngine(FileProvider.java:179)
at org.apache.axis.AxisEngine.init(AxisEngine.java:172)
at org.apache.axis.AxisEngine.<init>(AxisEngine.java:156)
at org.apache.axis.client.AxisClient.<init>(AxisClient.java:52)
at org.apache.axis.client.Service.getAxisClient(Service.java:103)
at org.apache.axis.client.Service.<init>(Service.java:112)
.......................................
Caused by: java.lang.ClassCastException: org.apache.xerces.jaxp.SAXParserFactoryImpl
at javax.xml.parsers.SAXParserFactory.newInstance(Unknown Source)
at org.apache.axis.utils.XMLUtils.initSAXFactory(XMLUtils.java:209)
at org.apache.axis.utils.XMLUtils.<clinit>(XMLUtils.java:110)
... 36 more

Hence, I have placed xercesImpl.jar and xerces.jar in the classpath and then, i have encountered
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/axis/utils/XMLUtils
error. Please let me know how to solve these issues. Thanks!

Perhaps you can try downloading the latest versions of both.
