If you find yourself asking questions like "Does this pattern still apply in EE5, and if so how do I apply it?" then Adam Bien's p4j5 project is well worth a look.

The p4j5 project looks interesting. Are any Javaranchers active members of it?

Also wondering if anyone here has read Adam's book "Real World Java EE Patterns Rethinking Best Practices". One of it's Amazon reviewer has said -

I recommend this book for people who are preparing for Sun Certified Enterprise Architect (SCEA) Part 2

Any opinions?

Definitely. You should also be checking out javaee-patterns on Project Kenai.
