In an existing JSP web application, I would like to show several options for a selected item that could be a mix of various form input types (ie., select, radio, checkbox, etc), and they could be different for each item. What is the best way to store each item option's input type and possible values, and then how should I render them to the browser? I haven't been able to find any information similar to this, so any links to existing information would be appreciated.

Sounds like the perfect application of custom tags.

Thank you for your response! Google'ing my problem with the additional terms 'custom tag' is turning up a few possible solutions that I'm looking for.

Whatever you do, be sure to keep any Java scriptlets off the page.
