Hi all,

Iam having some doubts:

1. can I use jdbc driver with DB2.

2. can i set the columns in DB2 directly using
contact.setFirstName("Sudha");
contact.setLastName("Javvadi");
session.save(contact); // does this mean the table contact is updated with firstname and lastname.
(or) I need to call any stored procedure to store/retrieve data.
My data is going to upload to mainframe system

3. I heard that if I need to read/insert into DB2 it should be done thru stored procedures. is it right?

Please clarify my doubts.

Thanks,
Sudha

1. Yes
2. It means the table contact (if that is what is mapped) is updated based on all the properties of your Contact object.
3. No. But this doesn't matter if you use Hibernate for your updates/inserts.
