I need to buy a digital video camera for work, for under $400 US. It will be used to make training videos. Indoor, talking heads mostly. Desired features:

1) Remote control would be great
2) Video out/in connectors; video monitoring during recording
3) Fast file transfer with a a Mac
4) DV format preferred

SVGA resolution is just fine so resolution isn't a concern.

Any suggestions?

Well with a Mini DV format, you will need to use Firewire to transfer the fastest, but the new DVD cameras remove that need, and just use the disk. I think some of the new DVD can still be bought for $400

Here are some from pricegrabber.

I like the last one, it is in the Sony line that is the most recent. Presonally my favorite is their 403, 405, or new 505. But they are beyond your price range right now.

Good Luck
