Hi,
I read a JDBC tutorial regarding the driver types. In that its mentioned that for type 1 ,ODBC libraries should be present at the client and for type 2 native libraries should be present at the client.
Can anybody please tell me what exactly is the client? Is it Frontend JSP?But I don't understand how client is coupled to JDBC>

Thanks

The client it the caller. It could be standalone Java code, a servlet, etc. It is poor practice to put JDBC in a JSP though.
