Hi,

I would use the appletcontext in one (mother) applet to detect all the applets in the page.

lets say i put the below in init method,
getAppletContext().getApplets()

I am thinking, what if the getAppletContext().getApplets() is executed while other applets are not yet 'instantiated', or not yet in the context, that is , while the page is loading, then the applet wont get all the applets in the page?

Is this going to happen, or, the applet context will always have all the references to all the applets, even if say, the mother applet is defined first at the top of the html?

I am thinking, what if use below, will it assure it? [lets say method initMotherApplet will contain the getAppletContext().getApplets() ]

If this was my problem I'd try both approaches in different browsers to see what happens. If possible, you might want to vary the JVM as well (Sun JVM, IBM JVM, Apple JVM).

Thanks Ulf.

Since the page is very static in terms of the number of applets in it (changed only by software customizers/customers; who should know programming) what I can ultimately add is a required applet parameter to specify how many applets is expected. I will check the number of applets detected, on related processings.
