extjs is a JavaScript library, while this is a forum about Java; the two are completely different animals. We do have an HTML and JavaScript forum, so I'll move this thread there for you.

There are examples of doing almost everything in your installation examples directory. Last time I checked, there were about 90 example pages illustrating all the techniques.

Run examples/grid/edit-grid.html

And read the API docs, and join http://extjs.com/forum/index.php
